Ashley Capps: The Complete Big Ears Interview

In The Daily Dumpster Blog, Uncategorized by Matthew Everettleave a COMMENT

In this week’s issue, we’ve got a Q&A with Ashley Capps, the mastermind of the Big Ears festival (March 23-26), in which he talks about the festival’s origins and history, some of this year’s performers, and the festival’s relationship to downtown Knoxville. The interview is an edited version of a 45-minute conversation we had a couple of weeks ago, which you can hear in full below.

Our Big Ears preview also includes interviews with Aram Demirjian, of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, and Paul Harrill and Darren Hughes of the Public Cinema, and profiles of some of the artists who will be playing this weekend. And this week’s print edition has the official Big Ears 2017 guide, with artist bios, the complete schedule, maps, and other info to help you navigate the weekend.
